We Won -- in two categories

Readers may recall my post earlier this month, Vote for Rogers Park, the Reader poll in which our neighborhood was in the running as best in three categories. We didn't win for overall neighborhood but did for diversity and affordability.

What kind of hostility would that be?

@Pedro Garciano - You are off topic now reintroducing the discussion of tolerance.

Happy Summer

Summer is is great time for hanging out by the lake in a hammock with a beer and a sketchbook.

And at least some beaches have wifi now so you can check to see what your friends are eating on facebook.

We are living in a Golden Age....embrace it.

Jeffrey, I care not whether you drink on the beach, but you claimed that "In my experience the police only ticket for glass or excessive drinking/rowdiness.
Bring cans and you're ok." Clearly, you're wrong but if you want to take a chance, that's up to you. If you do get ticketed, just don't come back here to complain.

Admittedly I've never been to Osterman beach, but why would I need to? As Omar states: "the beaches in Rogers Park are tons better." Specifically, Loyola Park with its wonderful stretch of beach, a pier to stroll out on or to fish from, the Loyola Dunes restoration area, a 600' long seawall/bench that residents repaint every year during a 2-day festival of art and music on Fathers' Day, and in August we'll get Shakespeare in the Parks' "Twelfth Night" by Chicago's renowned Shakespeare Theater.

Which Chamber of Commerce is better?

Is there a difference between the Rogers Park Business Alliance and the Rogers Park Chamber of Commerce? I'm confused as to why there are two separate business organizations but want to make sure I contact the one that can best help me locate a storefront for my computer repair shop and also help with long term support and publicity. Thank you.

Denzel Burke & Michael Phillips Sentencing

I haven't heard anything about the prosecution of these two criminals in some time. I genuinely believe that a fair disposition of their case would be to serve a mandatory 20 years in the USMC or a mandatory term of 20 years in prison. If they would choose for the military, they would be on felony probation for that entire 20 year term, and should they withdraw from the service or be less than honorably discharged the balance of that time would be subject to be seven in incarceration. There is absolutely no excuse for their actions

@robinM - I think "Liar" did not effectively argue his point, got caught jumping to a conclusion based on misrepresenting my comments and now is forced to resort to a personal attack, which has been reported.

@Mad About RP - So your comments were just generalizations! Okay, got it!
