backyard invasion

Hi all,
I am having an issue I need advise on.
We have found in 3 different times, dog poo in our backyard and we don't have any pets. I am looking at getting a camera to record the invader and report to the police but before I do that I wanted to know if any of u know of my options legally. Thanks in advanced :)

  • If it is being put there by someone, or someone's dog is pooping there, the police will not get involved. They consider it a Civil matter, which means you are on your own and would need to hire a lawyer and take the person (or owner of dog) to court....

If it is being put there by someone, or someone's dog is pooping there, the police will not get involved. They consider it a Civil matter, which means you are on your own and would need to hire a lawyer and take the person (or owner of dog) to court. Police only get involved in acts of violence. At this point, I would get security cameras installed all around your property, they are fairly affordable and cameras are very small now, and is worth the peace of mind. If your property is not fenced, it is most likely a wild animal or a neighbour's dog wondering over there.

  • PortageRules Love Portage Park!

We had a opossum leave us a nightly gift that resembled dog poo. tough to get rid of as the city does not trap any longer and these critters climb and dig to get where they want to be

Air conditioning unit distance from the property line

Are there any rules in Chicago which regulate the distance of air conditioning unit installation from the property line?

  • You forget where you are! This is Chicago. All my neighbors units are in the gangways. Also, the furnace vent pipes protrude from the sides of the houses and are spewing carbon monoxide into the gangways, which is definitely against code. I rarely see them vented out the roof. Even if you pull a permit, nobody comes out to inspect. Not about safety. It's all about revenue.

  • In that case, the city gains revenue by levying fines on any code violations, so call and report them when you see them.

New Nite Cap

The new facade looks amazing! Does anyone know what kind of business is going into the old Nite Cap?

  • I've been to McNamara's and Hops and Barley several times and don't find them very similar at all.

  • Deutsch portage36

Come to think of it, we don't have a strip club anywhere in the area. None in walking distance. So many empty stores. "tavern foundation girls?" won't even need to change most of the sign. lol

Portage Park Anti-Racism Vigil Planned For Wednesday Night
CHICAGO - A Facebook event is calling for Northwest Siders to gather in Portage Park, 4200 N. NW-Sider, don't worry about Jackson and Washington Park being renamed. The names will stand, but they'll be named after Jesse Jackson and Harold Washington. I jest, but it's not out of the realm of possibility unfortunately.
I do fear for Jefferson Park being renamed though with the 45th Ward's aldercreature having a leathal case of white liberal guilt though. Oh wait, he can rename it after TV's George Jefferson. Crisis averted.

Hi, I stopped reading after the above quoted first sentence. Could you show me where I said or implied what you are claiming. Thanks.

On second thought, forget it. You seem to be most interested in shouting, name calling, and stamping your feet. Also it looks like you can't seem to follow the guidelines, hence keep getting your comments removed. So I'm not up for wasting my time in a "conversation," most of which may disappear later. Cheers!

Anyone know if they are still building Aldi, Binny's, Starbucks, etc? There's so much potential for this intersection and neighborhood, why does it still look like an ghost town?
