Good and cheap landscaping

Can anyone recommend a good landscaper. I just need some work on bushes and plants for the front of the house. Maybe put in a border. Thanks!

Pest control

Looking for a reputable pest control company. We recently bought a home in portage that was rehabbed then sat vacant for a year or so. The bugs are manable, just a few too many for my comfort. Looking for a reasonably priced company that will come out seasonably to spray etc. Thank you!

Yard service

I am looking for recommendations for yard service providers. We aren't looking for anything elaborate - just basic upkeep from a reliable service provider at a reasonable rate. Thanks in advance.

  • We've been having Greenlawn Landscaping take care of our property (no frills), and they're dependable and do a nice job at affordable rates. They're flexible if you want a one-time additional service. They are also very nice people to deal with. Here's a link to their website. http://greenlawnchicago.com/

Terrible Experience with Colletta Construction

Where to begin? Unprofessionalism via bad communication, disorganization & false promises. Inadequacy by negligence. Ineptitude by poor craftsmanship.

- Paid him 50% down and an extra $1,000 and received less than half of the work complete (plenty of which needs to be repaired as the quality was extremely poor)
- Less-than-half of the work was “completed” in 2.5 weeks when “3 to 4 days of work” was what we were initially told
- Many promised work days that resulted in...

- Many promised work days that resulted in “no-shows” with no explanation given
- Damage done at site
- Discord amongst employees and “he said/she said” back channel communication
- Bad communication including: raising voice to customer, not answering calls or texts, not reaching out when absent from scheduled work day, full voicemail box)
- Ignored addressed inconsistencies/concerns with the work-to-date

I wouldn’t recommend this “company” to anyone and would, in fact, highly advise anyone looking for work done to NOT go with them.

Good call, DarkAngel. I had used Chase QuickPay and immediately tried to redact it but was unable to. I'm glad that you can at least see the experience we had with Colletta and make your decision based off of that.

  • File a complaint with small claims court. You can get three times your costs, court cost and fees and maybe more! Cost about $80 to file. Take your complaint up to the law library and write up a solid complaint.

Easy Street Aims To Revive K&H Lounge Legacy, With Pizza For Good Measure
PORTAGE PARK - Last year's closure of K&H Lounge, 3750 N. Central Ave., ended 71 continuous years for the small storefront as a low-key but beloved neighborhood pour house. But Dan Latino is nearly ready to revive that tradition, with some extra TVs and fresh-made food to boot.

  • We've ordered pickup multiple times and went with a good sized group the other night. It's a solid place. The popcorn chicken is ridiculously delicious. Tried multiple types of their pizza and enjoyed them all, have also had a burger and one of the salads. Give em a shot if you haven't yet. :)

  • I've been a few times, a couple times just for drinks, a few times I've gotten food. Place is solid. The staff is friendly, food is good. I was in last week, the manager didn't know when the beer garden was going to open, he said they were just waiting on final approval for the permit. Everything back there is done

Binny's Update

Hey Everyone!

I noticed that most of the inside construction is done and the shelving has been set up. I snapped a couple pics while waiting for the bus for anyone interested.

  • I was told that the sears by six corners is staying for now, the one on harlem is going, post up if you are by the harlem store and see some good markdowns.

  • Craig E. Friend of Chicago

I saw on the news that Sears is closing seventy stores and the only one that will still be open in the Chicago area will be the six corners store. And I hope it's true.
