How can I get the city to trim old trees?

Hi,
I have two very old trees in front of my house that are about 40 feet tall and towering over my house. In the summer, I noticed there are some large dead branches, and am worried the trees maybe dying or weakening. With these high winds like last week, I'm worried they might drop or topple on my house.

Does anyone know how the city tracks this, and how they decide when to trim? The trees are tagged by the city (small red metal tags), so they are registered somewhere.

I'd like to contact the city to trim the branches before a large one breaks off during rough weather.

Thanks

  • Thanks. I'll call back and make sure.

You're also able to report and request almost anything on the city's website. I use it all the time.
