A 38-year-old man was walking in the 1300 block of North Pulaski when he heard shots and realized he’d been struck in the chest, police said.

About 8:20 p.m., a 32-year-old man was shot and critically wounded in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the Southwest Side.He was getting into a vehicle in the 1500 block of South Washtenaw when someone walked up and shot him repeatedly, police said. He was critical at Mount Sinai.

Five minutes earlier, a 19-year-old man was shot in the left knee in the 8900 block of South Parnell in Auburn Gresham and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in good condition.

Another South Side shooting happened just before 7 p.m. in Bronzeville, where a 28-year-old man was shot in the right foot in the 600 block of East Bowen, police said. He took himself to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, where he was listed in good condition.

Tuesday afternoon, a 21-year-old man was shot in the arm in the 3100 block of West Polk about 1:45 p.m. in East Garfield Park and taken to Stroger in good condition.

In the morning, two people walked up to an 18-year-old man in the 6200 block of South Kimbark in Woodlawn and one of them shot him in the calf. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition after the 9:30 a.m. shooting, police said.

Early Tuesday, a 19-year-old man heard shots and realized he’d been hit in the knee while walking with a friend about 3:30 a.m. in the 6200 block of South Komensky in the West Lawn neighborhood, police said. He took himself to Christ Medical Center in good condition.

An hour before that, someone shot a 35-year-old man standing outside in the 2100 block of West Adams on the Near West Side. He was taken in serious condition to Stroger with a gunshot wound to the chest, police said.

At 1:03 a.m., an 18-year-old man riding in a car in the 4500 block of South Wolcott in Back of the Yards was then taken to Mount Sinai in serious condition after being shot in the right shoulder.

Less than 10 minutes earlier, officers responding to a call of a person shot in the 2700 block of North Hoyne found a 24-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds in the back yard of a North Side home, police said. He was listed in critical condition at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.

The day’s first shooting was reported at 12:40 a.m. in South Shore. A 23-year-old man walking in the 2000 block of East 71st Street was shot in the foot by someone in a passing SUV, police said. He later walked in to Jackson Park Hospital and his condition was stabilized.

Officers responding to a call of shots fired about 9 p.m. in the 1500 block of South Karlov found a 17-year-old boy unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the chest, according to Chicago Police.

Officers found Willie Jones dead in an alley with gunshot wounds to the head and back at 2:33 p.m. after a call of shots fired in the first block of North Lorel, authorities said. Jones lived in the 5500 block of West Jackson.

Kevin Milton, 32, was in the driver seat of a car about 3:45 p.m. in the 800 block of North Waller when someone walked up and shot him in the chest, authorities said.

He showed up at West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where he was pronounced dead at 4:14 p.m., authorities said. He lived in the 800 block of North Parkside.

About the same time, 20-year-old Albert Hurd was outside in the 5300 block of West Harrison when a dark-colored vehicle drove up and someone inside shot him in the chest, arm and abdomen, authorities said.

Hurd was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 5:25 p.m., authorities said. He lived in the 5200 block of West Congress.

Kevin Milton, 32, was in the driver seat of a car about 3:45 p.m. in the 800 block of North Waller when someone walked up and shot him in the chest, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He showed up at West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where he was pronounced dead at 4:14 p.m., authorities said. He lived less than a block away from the shooting in the 800 block of North Parkside.

    Assuming this is a serious question:

    1. Flint.
    2. Chicago Tribune investigation that Chicago was using BS testing methodology in selecting locations for water quality testing.
    3. It's kids, who are most susceptible to bad effects of lead.

    I'd bet a dollar that *most* of the older south and west side schools will show elevated lead levels in the water. Probably not truly high, but elevated.

Prosecutors: CPD officer injured when suspect threw gun

The uniformed officers who had been on routine patrol in a marked SUV at Trumbull and 24th had pursued Rafael Martir-Ubiles late Monday afternoon because they believed he had a gun, Assistant State’s Attorney Matthew Howroyd said.

Judge Peggy Chiampas ordered Martir-Ubiles, of the 2400 block of South St. Louis, held without bail.

Officer Shot While Chasing Suspect In Little Village

Around 4:15 p.m., the officer was in his squad car with a partner when they noticed three suspicious-looking men near the 2300 block of South Trumbull Avenue, Police Supt. Eddie Johnson said at a news conference outside Stroger Hospital.

Police closed off several blocks near the scene of the shooting, and a mobile command center was parked at the end of an alley near 24th Street and Trumbull Avenue.
