Does any one know where and how to get replacement covers???
I wish they were made with paper or plastic, maybe they won't be so marketable and attractive to these unsavory thieves!!!!
We are under attack, let's fight back ! Be vigilant and call the Police when you see supicious activity, 10-4!

Stolen Mailbox Covers
This weekend the metal thieves struck again on 89th & 90th Paxton and Luella. They took the mailbox covers off several homes. As far as I know, none of the residents reported this to the police. I guess, some people are just feeling overwhelmed by crime and don't see any improvement or results and therefore have lost hope.
It's hard for me to believe that the police don't know where this stuff is being taken to be cashed in, or that the places that accept scrap metal don't know some of this stuff is probably stolen. I mean come on, why would somebody have in their possession 10 mailbox covers or door knobs?
Loading
-
Hey, if the metal wasn't being bought then they wouldn't be stolen, so we need the police to start dealing with the companies who're buying them, that will make a difference!
-
The ordinance will give the police the power to go through the records of the metal yards and see who is bringing in stolen merchandise. The customers will have to present ID and the metal yards will have to record what they are bringing in. There will be major penalties for accepting stolen merchandise
