Big Star Dropped Its Cash-Only Policy, But Many City Spots Are Holding Out
CHICAGO - Big Star might have ditched its cash-only policy, but the city still has a lot of holdouts. The restaurant made the big switch and started accepting credit cards because guests wanted the change, technology has advanced and Big Star needed to move forward with the neighborhood, said Kim Lyons, a spokeswoman for Big Star.

Hyde Park Towers

Looking for feedback about the apartments in Hyde Park Towers. Seems to be some information lacking concerning utility bills and unexpected changes in rental rates. Any info from residents or other people who know?

  • Theresa Vidalon Grand Boulevard home owner

We lived there for some time and found it gradually deteriorating over time while the rent exponetially increased. The views are beautiful, but that is the only positive aspect living there. Management went through 5 managers who were either unresponsive to resident needs or quickly fired for trying to make changes. Please consider other alternatives.

  • LJ in Hyde Park New neighbor

Thanks! How long ago did you live there? I understand (hope) things are different now.

  • Theresa Vidalon Grand Boulevard home owner

We lived there from 2005 to 2012 and finally left after our living room, bedroom, kitchen, and both bathrooms flooded for separate reasons at different times. The building began to deteriorate and management punished people who complained so the tenants formed an association and were working with the city to enforce tenant rights. Hopefully it is different now.
