A Bright Future for Bright Endeavors

Dana Emanuel at Bright Endeavors created a new recycling initiative called Good Glass Chicago. This is a one-of-a-kind program that recycles used and empty glass candle votives, rents them out to local event venues and restaurants, and then once returned they are cleaned out and refilled to be re-rented. What makes this program so special is the fact that the people that work to recycle these votives are young mothers in a difficult situation – by working at Bright Endeavors these women learn transferable skills and complete an 8-week work training program. Once they graduate from this program they have help finding a new job and are then able to provide for themselves and for their children. It’s a program with a mission, and they produce beautiful products.
