  • Hmmm,
No mention at all about West on North Bar and Grill, Rangoon Indian Restaurant, or Cagancho's Cigar store - all of whom were there before her.

Nor the demolition of the electrical supply house that is now a small commercial space including Dentist, Subway, and O'Reilly auto parts. Nor the demo of the vacant building that formerly held the Schinagles NAPA auto parts which is now a modern building housing an Auto Zone. Again, all of which were there before her.

Seems like selective memory, or revisionist history.

It sounds like detectives, after getting nowhere on the case for a while (and I certainly do not know haw much time & effort was put into it), decided to get the incedent before the public, There is a clear enough description that someone might recognize the offender. In writing this, I am not saying I agree with the aproach. I do not know enough to have a clear opinion about that. I agree, Fuarain, with you that getting the word about this out quicker would have made a lot of sense.

It's a common theme with theses notifications of sexual assault - they don't release it to the press until a month after the fact. I understand that with the usual crime statistics, such as the Tribune's interactive rime map, as statistics can take time to compile, but in the case of sexual assault, I would REALLY like to know right away, not just for personal safety, but also because anyone who may have seen or heard something likely would have forgotten 30 days later.
