5 Dead, 16 Wounded In Weekend Shootings

Zoraida Feliciano, 33, and a man were parking in front of their home in the 3700 block of West Potomac about 6:45 p.m. when the man got out of the vehicle to go inside and get the Feliciano’s child, officials said.

About 5 p.m., police found a 30-year-old man unresponsive on the sidewalk in the 11600 block of South Racine with a gunshot wound to his back, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

About 3:10 a.m., someone opened fire during a party in the basement of an apartment in the 800 block of South Oakley.

The man’s car had struck several parked cars before coming to a stop where officers found him about 3:15 a.m. in the 400 block of West Evergreen, police said. He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

About 2 p.m., Anthony Jackson was in a vehicle heading north in the 700 block of North Hamlin when a car pulled alongside him and someone inside opened fire, striking him in the back, according to police and the medical examiner’s office said.

5 killed, 16 wounded in weekend shootings

Saturday evening, a 33-year-old woman was shot in the head while in her SUV on the 3700 block of West Potomac Avenue in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, police said.

About 6:50 p.m., the woman was shot in a Chrysler SUV, which following the shooting ended up at Division Street and California Avenue, where it crashed. It remained on scene hours later, with its passenger window shot out.

About 5 p.m. Sunday, police were called to the area of 117th Street and Racine Avenue, police said.

The man was found inside a vehicle about 3:15 a.m. Sunday in the 400 block of West Evergreen Avenue with multiple gunshot wounds, Alfaro said. The car he was in crashed into several parked cars before coming to a stop.

The three were at a party in a basement apartment in the 800 block of South Oakley Boulevard when someone fired shots, police said.

A 22-year-old man was driving in the 700 block of North Hamlin Avenue when another vehicle pulled up to his car and someone began shooting, Zala said. The victim lost control of his car and struck several parked cars, police said.

The man told police he had been shot in the 3900 block of West Lexington Street in the Lawndale neighborhood on the city's West Side. He was listed in serious condition, Pacheco said.

About 12:10 a.m., the man was in a white sedan in a parking lot in the 1200 block of West Randolph Street when a white car pulled alongside and someone inside announced a robbery, Greer said.

The victim crashed into a median in the 700 block of West Randolph Street, police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.

The 29-year-old was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the face at 4:47 a.m. in a vehicle in the 1500 block of West 72nd Place, police said.

Rayvon Little, 20, was standing outside with a 19-year-old man about 7 p.m. in the 6700 block of South Morgan when a group of people walked by and one person in the group opened fire, striking both men, authorities said.

Chang Z. Qui, 41, was working at the restaurant at 5249 W. Madison when he was shot in the back by a gunman demanding money, authorities said. The attacker ran away after the shooting.

A 32-year-old man was in the 3900 block of West Lexington about 6:11 a.m. when he was shot in the shoulder, police said. He took himself to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition.
