In South Chicago the process has been going on for about 20 years. In the past I've called the cops, the building department, etc. But in the end the best thing to do is to be friendly. You don't have to be great buddies but by smiling, waving and saying hello you might find out what is going on. Sometimes people turn out to be good people looking for good neighbors.

parents the fault lies with you when your child was playing shoot em up bang bang because you bought the guns. they kept that mentality in their heads and when your child was acting out you said ok my child needs a check.you got the check and then you didn't raise your child whatever your child did was okay because you had the check you wasn't worried about your child anymore you worried about getting your hair and nails done buying a new car and partying your children were out there doing whatever they wanted to do....bullying fighting gangbanging. the first thing you would say to a person if you touched my child!! or don't put your hands on my child!! go to the teachers and be ready to jump on them but your child is out of hand. Disrespecting them. Not knowing if your child was telling the truth..you just took their side.neighbors couldn't tell you anything about your child. now we sit back and see what they're doing and still no one wants to tell. Now the parents of the people that's doing the shooting and stealing sit back and still don't say anything you know your children are out here with these guns. And you say nothing you are just as guilty as them. You also know exactly what your sons or daughters are doing out here. You turn your head as if you don't see anything I just don't understand why parents are afraid of their children these days that couldn't be me I thank God I had my children when I did they all are grown and i was a single parent living in SS. 3 graduated from college 1 finished HS has a good job the other never pasted his GED.but has a good job
That's the one that got in trouble at age 15 i told him if you did the crime you gone do the time so don't lie to me. He did his time an he learned from it he's an adult know an on the right path.Thank you Jesus..people wake up don't blame the police and the major they didn't raise these kids you did. A closed mouth doesn't help it only help keep crime going up.....Think people.

I recently moved to an apartment off Pulaski between Fullerton and Armitage. I really need your guys' opinions and help about this issue I am having. Many of my neighbors recieve rides from others and when they get picked up the person in the car LAYS on their horn. This is persistent. It is all day. it is messing with my health because it is messing with my sleep. I work late and I have often just fallen asleep when the honking begins at 4:30 am. It happens every 5-20 minutes until 8am. Today one of my lovely neighbors was laying on their horn for over a minute straight at 6:40 am. I wouldn't complain if they pulled up and went "beep-beep" but it sounds like an emergency and my conscientious mind can't ignore it. the noise ordinance protects us until 8am. are car horns used in this fashion violating the noise ordinance? Earplugs don't help and I shouldn't have to accommodate this inconsiderate behaviour. have any of you had this issue or anything similar? Sometimes it makes me so hazy and angry that I fear I might go out there and start a fight. can anyone lend insight to me on the perspective of the drivers? why don't they have phones? what in the world makes people think this is ok?

I think what I need to do is start calling 911 on each one consistently day after day for these 4am-8am honkers until it lessens. I feel like a tyrant calling the police on a bunch of parents and working people but they are violating the ordinance right?
