Hi, I need a daycare provider during the day, Monday through Friday, 8am to 6pm, any referrals around the area? Home daycare is preffered due to the one on one attention, but a business daycare will be considered, thanks!

Hi! I send my 2 boys (3 months and 2 1/2) to Little Einstein's Daycare- 3640 W. Wrightwood, (773) 227-7809. They are AMAZING! They have wonderful teachers who care about and adore each child there. My 2 1/2 started there right after he turned 1 and has grown leaps and bounds socially and educationally because of this daycare. Miss Mari and her husband Mr. Jose are the owners and have much experience running daycare facilities. They are amazing and wonderful people. They keep the parents extremely involved and make themselves available at all times. The facility is clean and they serve wonderful meals to the children. They do tons of projects, go to the park, go on field trips- they really know how to have fun with the kids!

I had my oldest at home for a year, so I understand wanting to have one on one time with the care provider, but believe me, he has learned so much and become such a little social butterfly since going to this daycare!

  • Do you speak Spanish? If you do, my day care is the absolute best. I have my 2 boys (3 1/2 & 2) at Tatiana's on Monticello and School, it is a home day care, the owner has the basement just for the day care and my kids love her...

Do you speak Spanish? If you do, my day care is the absolute best. I have my 2 boys (3 1/2 & 2) at Tatiana's on Monticello and School, it is a home day care, the owner has the basement just for the day care and my kids love her and her sister who are the ones that run the day care. They are certified and licensed by the state, they have an educational curriculum so my 2 year old already counts to 20 (10 in English), knows his abc's, colors, etc.

  • Thanks Carolyn, please forward Tatiana's contact information. My son is very active and loves the outdoors, do you know if she take the kiddos to the park?

Born and raised in the Cragin neighborhood.

Walmart is coming to Cicero/Diversey area?

Permit issued for renovation/alteration

Issue date April 5, 2012

.Estimated value $7,000,000
Application number 100433398
Work type Renovation / alteration

A reconfiguration of a building's interior or exterior. WALMART SUPERCENTER 4600 WEST DIVERSEY- EXISTING BUILDING REMODEL AND LOWER PARKING GARAGE- 116,720 SQUARE FEET-4600 WEST DIVERSEY .

I haven't gotten anything from the alderman about it. There is already a Walmart less than a mile south of here at Grand and Cicero. A comunity meeting would be nice to have on this. Traffic between Cicero and Kostener along Diversey is horrible as is.

I find it interesting that the people for this proposition include in their reasons how terrible the Wal-Mart on "Grand & Cicero" is (which is not the location) & the assumption that the one in The Hall would be any better. Lower prices always come at a high cost to someone.

Wal-Mart is not the direction the area should be leaning in. How will Big Lots compete? Discovery? Mattress joint? Aldi, even? Are the job losses in these businesses softened by the fact that they can try to work for Wal-Mart & hope for the best? It's easy to forget how the "mall" on North & Cicero dramatically shifted to closings after Wal-Mart opened in the area.

  • Jenn Henn Tell me everything.

Why so close to the WalMart on North Ave and Cicero?...
