Four Killed, 24 Wounded in Chicago Weekend Shootings

Police say someone fired shots from a passing car at Ruth's Mini Club in the 8300 block of South Halsted at about 2:40 a.m.

Police say the most recent victim was a 17-year-old boy shot in the 2200 block of South Marshall at around 6 a.m. Sunday.

A man was killed in front of a home in the 800 block of West 50th Place at about 2:45 a.m.

Shortly before 2 a.m. Monday, three people were shot and one was killed at a party in the back yard of a home in the 5000 block of West Potomac.

A 17-year-old male suffered a graze wound to the leg shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday in the 1200 block of West 112th Place. Police say the victim was walking on the sidewalk street when he was shot by someone across the street. The teen refused medical attention at the scene.

A 21-year-old man was shot in the abdomen shortly before 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the 3300 block of West Madison. He was listed in stable condition.

Around 6 a.m. Saturday, an 18-year-old man was shot in the 2700 block of West 24th Street, police said. The teen was shot in the chest and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition. Details surrounding the shooting weren’t immediately available.

About 15 minutes earlier, another 18-year-old man was shot in the 10700 block of South Hoxie Street in the South Deering neighborhood, police said. The teen was shot in the temple and...

Darius Sept, 34, was shot in the abdomen about 12:30 a.m. in the 10900 block of South Racine, authorities said.

The first fatal shooting of the weekend was Friday night in the Back of the Yards neighborhood. About 10:45 p.m. Friday, 36-year-old Johnny White was found lying on the sidewalk in the 5400 block of South Damen with gunshot wounds to his head and thigh, authorities said.

A 23-year-old man was standing outside with a group of people in the 8700 block of South Escanaba at 2:12 a.m. when someone exited a light-colored vehicle and fired at him, police said.

The 19-year-old woman was shot about 12:45 a.m. in the 3300 block of West Van Buren, police said. The woman was standing on a corner with a group of friends when she heard shots and felt pain, police said.

About 8:50 p.m. the man was shot in the buttocks in the 2400 block of North Lamon, police said. He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where his condition had stabilized.

Earlier, about 4:15 p.m., a 19-year-old man was shot in the leg in the 600 block of East 133rd Street, police said. He was taken to Christ Medical Center, where his condition stabilized.

The 17-year-old boy and 22-year-old man were sitting on a porch in the 4300 block of West 25th Place when two people got out of a vehicle nearby and started shooting, police said.

5 Dead, 42 Wounded In Weekend Shootings

The boy’s father, 26-year-old James Jenkins, was charged and ordered held on $500,00 bond Sunday for owning the gun that either the 3-year-old or a sibling accidentally discharged at a home in the 4300 block of West Monroe, prosecutors said.

A 14-year-old boy was in the 1100 block of North Leclaire at 2:52 p.m. when two males approached him, police said. One of the males was armed and fired shots at the boy, striking him in the back. The two then got in to a dark Infiniti and drove off, police said.

The 16-year-old was talking to friends on the sidewalk in the 2200 block of South Marshall a few minutes before 6 a.m. when two people walked up, shouted gang slogans and opened fire, police said.

The teen, identified as Victor Martinon, was shot twice in the chest and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:24 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. He lived in the 2300 block of South Trumbull. Police said the boy was 17.

Quentin Graham, 40, was sitting on a porch in the 800 block of West 50th Place when a light-colored vehicle pulled up, police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office said. As the man walked up to the vehicle, someone inside fired shots, striking him in the chest, police said.

Graham, of the 700 block of West 50th Place, was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:29 a.m., the medical examiner’s office said.

The three were at a backyard party in the 5000 block of West Potomac about 2 a.m. when someone came out of an alley and fired multiple shots, police said.

Andre Byrd, 33, was shot in the torso and pronounced dead at the scene at 2:15 a.m., according to police and the medical examiner’s office. Byrd lived in the 200 block of North Kolin, authorities said.
