Tony Mantuano returns to Spiaggia kitchen; Cafe Spiaggia closes for remodel

Police say a 35-year-old man was attacked by two men on the 100 block of East Chestnut at about 2 a.m. today.

Police are investigating whether this incident is linked to an attempted robbery at around the same time on the 700 block of North Fairbanks.

Police Investigate Two Robberies Near Magnificent Mile

In the first incident, a 35-year-old man was walking on Chestnut Street near Michigan Avenue around 2 a.m., when two men attacked him from behind, and stole his backpack, wallet, and cell phone.

A few minutes later, a man was sleeping on a bench near the corner of Fairbanks Court and Huron Street, when two men tried to rob him. Police said the man woke up as the suspects were going through his pockets. He was not injured, and the suspects got away with nothing.
