Thanks for being willing to try digital tools. That is why they say in some neighborhoods the DIGITAL DIVIDE is still expanding.

Spread the word to use the INTERNET, email, EB, Crimewatch, Dkstrict Homepage...anything that will get you out of the CAPS loop and the Alderman loop.

Nobody can stay on top of it better than vigilant residents asking that union workers just plain do a good job in our neighborhood.

The CITY is to BLAME for giving unqualified businesses Licenses.

The truth is that only low level immigrants want to open a store in blighted neighborhoods because they can't afford to open in more expensive rental areas. They also can't get jobs.

The truth is that Neighborhood people are denied loans or are not creditworthy because of poor financial habits. So we don't see a rush of African American owned stores.

The truth is that City Hall with VETTING takes years to open a business so only those with deep pockets can wrangle with the city for as many as 10 years. I know of a CVS that fought 7 years, paid architectural, lawyers, bought land...only to not acquire 1 parcel on a block. The city wouldn't use eminent domain...so the community could get a new shopping center.

It takes approx 1 year to buy a vacant city owned lot. Gads, it only takes about 30 days to buy a property from an owner in regular real estate transactions. Why does it take the city 12 times longer? Looks like that would be a good reform ..to save time and collect $$ faster.

So CVS killed building the new shopping center and bought 7 free standing Oscos. They didn't have to build a thing and deal with the primadonas with so many hands out...it did not make good business sense. I can only imagine the LOSS incurred in that 7 year battle.

Look at the WALMart 10 Year fight over hair splitting over how much to pay. Many in my neighborhood would work for minimum wage until they can find something of a higher rate.

Look at the WALMart 10 Year fight over hair splitting over how much to pay. Many in my neighborhood would work for minimum wage until they can find something of a higher rate.

The truth is that CPD will not answer 911 calls for business just as they do not answer 911 calls for residents in the 11th District.

We are turning this liquor store issue into a discrimination against Arab issue in EGP. The only stores that have been seriously punished or closed have been Arab. This is a slippery slope. Some Arabs call for police service and also don't get it. Ever seen security tapes of mom and pop store Arabs?Asians killed in robberies? I have seen several on TV

Lets blame the immigrant mom and pop store owner just like the COPS blame us.

Looks like more pandering to race issues to keep the Dem Republican war going to garner votes. Chicagoan are easily mislead by the spin masters.

We need alot of TOLERANCE when rebuilding EGP.
