75 CPS schools now have tested positive for lead
Chicago Public Schools has 75 elementary schools with amounts of lead in their drinking water that have tested above federally acceptable standards. That's about 18 percent so far of the 422 grade schools run by the city's school system. CPS released the updated numbers after 8 p.m.

so lets see - if we sue the city and win - the city pays from taxpayers collections so our taxes - real estate - will go up increasing cost of living for homeowners and renters. So we are suing ourselves - the only winner are the free loaders who live off the taxpayers dole.

  • paul in jefferson jefferson park resident

We move then only city workers left to pay bills out of their checks. If their is lead they need to remove it just like lead paint and landlord's issues . The city cannot keep raising taxes it will look like Indiana here.

Nitro Tea Is The Newest, Trendiest Offering At This Edison Park Cafe

The Cafe at LeFlour Bakery, a tiny corner cafe that shares a spot with LeFlour at 6701 N. Olmsted Ave., has been serving both for about two weeks now, and co-owner Kristen Polich said she isn’t aware of another shop in the city selling nitro tea.

Nitro Tea Is The Newest, Trendiest Offering At This Edison Park Cafe
Nitro chai tea (left) and nitro coffee at The Cafe at LeFlour look like beer and taste creamy. [DNAinfo/Janet Rausa Fuller] EDISON PARK - It's getting easier to get your hands on a glass of so-called nitro coffee - cold-brewed coffee that's infused with nitrogen and served cold out of a keg, just like Guinness.

Flyers taped to garages

anybody have flyers taped to their garages on Monday? our whole alley had them. i didn't see the person/people doing it, but if you do i suggest you call the cops. there is no reason for them to walk down the alley doing that and taping stuff to our garages.

the ulterior motive is that these people are walking down the alleys and looking at garages/houses.

they have this problem in Garfield Ridge on the Southside

so...just a heads up and if you see people doing this, just call so the cops can get rid of them

STOLEN ITEMS

Hi Neighbors,

Yesterday (7-10-16) our trailer was burglarized. We are located on Northwest Hwy nearest to Oliphant. We own a local landscaping business and some of our equipment was taken. They took backpack blowers, toolboxes filled with power equipment. The backpack blowers were orange and black (echo brand) with a tie dye sticker on the bottom. The toolboxes were black and yellow with a very large metal handle. These were filled with all DeWalt power tools. If you have any leads, or saw anyone suspicious with these type of items please contact the 16th District or our business directly at 773-712-2628 or facebook.com/abenepropertypreservationspecialists. Thanks for your assistance!

How do these buildings get approved when the neighborhood is not notified....the Community meeting which meet every 2nd Wednesday of the month at EPI's isn't posted publicly..why is everything hushed. Items such as these should be on the Alderman's web at the very least. Our past mayor sold the soul of the city with his parking meter solutions, among other things, our current mayor has helped to sell the tranquility of our town with airport expansion, and now the heart of Edison Park is to be broken by allowing these new developments, some which are being represent by past zoning alderman's relatives, to push the ugliness that can only come from over development, onto Edison Park's residents. The City of Chicago has taken the middle-class, the working people, and made it only a faded memory. This city has used us as the doormats to help line the pockets of not only their own, but that of their friends, and still beat you down with another way to make you pay. I believe after growing up and raising a second generation, it is time to say good bye to something that use to be so unique, a neighborhood. You can not fight City Hall. No indeed, for they will probably tax you for this service..forgive me they do already...
