Greetings Neighbors!

You are invited and we are in need of volunteers on Saturday, June 25 from 9 AM - 11 AM for a quick Spring cleaning of the Neighborhood Connection Project (NCP) bricolage mural. You all know this wonderful piece of outdoor bricolage art (the largest on Chicago's NW side) located in the Metra underpass at Kinzua, Hiawatha and Lehigh. Many of you use this point of connection between Wildwood, North Edgebrook and Edgebrook. It's fantastic (!) and was done by over 400 community members over 5 1/2 years. And now, it needs some cleaning. That's where you come in whether you use the space (as so many of us do) or not.

Kindly stop on by at 9 AM on June 25 with some garbage bags, a broom, a dustpan (or whatever you can muster) and we can, together as a community, clean it up in no time and be on our way. We'll stay no later than 11 AM. Done this before. It's fun. It's doable. It gives back to each other. Hey, it's our art and our underpass.

And to make sure this all goes smoothly, NCP is pleased to announce that for Summer 2016, our very own Park Community Church (https://parkcommunity.church/neighborhoods/edgebrook/) will lead the underpass clean-up efforts. This is huge! Thank you Park Community Church, whose congregation is made up of many of our Edgebrook, North Edgebrook and Wildwood neighbors.

That's it. Questions? Always ask. Jac.charlier@gmail.com.

More about NCP on our Facebook Page. I look forward to seeing many neighbors on Saturday, June 25.

Started in Spring of 2010, the Neighborhood Connection Project (NCP) is a democratically gathered, citizen-led initiative to build community by repairing and beautifying the Metra railroad underpass located at Kinzua, Hiawatha and Lehigh. Completed in August 2015, NCP is the largest outdoor public art bricolage mural on Chicago's Northwest side. Thanks to community funds raised and the financial support of After School Matters (ASM), NCP provided summer internships for 90 local teens.
