Creeper Roaming

Not sure what's going on but just recently, literally a few minutes ago on 97th and Jeffery, some unknown dark-skinned male around 5'6-5'11 with a dark navy blue or black cap (black loose clothing with white sneakers) was prowling around neighbor's lawns and peeking into the windows. I've already called the police but please keep a lookout, since just soon after me scaring the guy, gunshots were immediately heard in the nearby distance.

  • Never a good sign but keep your eyes peeled and head down. And you did the right thing calling the police with a good description of the person.I have alerted an off duty policeman near you and he will keep a watch for suspicious activity. Good looking out!!!

Moving to 105th and Ave J

Hi all,
I'm considering moving into the 105th and Ave J block and would like to know what the neighborhood is like. Is there a crime/gang problem that I should be aware of and what summer activities are there? Any info is appreciated.

  • I meant to say, most SUMMER activity is a thing of the past. Just go to the park.

  • Ali Soshes Just looking out for my neighbors

The whole East Side has taken an ugly turn in the past few years thanks in part to the general apathy of our neighbors, our do nothing Alderman, and obvious lack of police presence.

North of 106th has gang and drug issues as well as tagging galore. We do throw the occassional block party, but the last one I drove past on 107th and Mackinaw looked more like a gang recruitment party.

Cal Park has some activities, but I'd usually head over to Whiting, IN.

Does any one know where and how to get replacement covers???

I wish they were made with paper or plastic, maybe they won't be so marketable and attractive to these unsavory thieves!!!!
We are under attack, let's fight back ! Be vigilant and call the Police when you see supicious activity, 10-4!
