If I lived near by there ( I moved) I'd try to help that dog out. I hope she found her family by now!

Pickup Truck and Garage
Not sure what I saw at 4:40 a.m., there were headlines on in an alley, I thought they were pulling out of a garabe but headlights didn't move, then a pickup (Ford or Chevy) pulled out with the back full of items covered with a canvas(?). I could see the handle of a lawn mower sticking out.

It's not a junk collector type of truck,
I couldn't tell what color the Pickup was, black, blue or red, but I it was dark in color, it appeared to be a nice looking pickup. The darkness and rain wasn't any help.
The Pickup pulled out of the alley, before heading towards Pulaski, they used their turning signal to turn East toward Pulaski.
That part confused me, if it was a robbery, why use a turning signal? If a garabe was broken into, why obey the rules of the road?
Then again, would someone be moving at that time of the morning?
Another thought, junk collectors don't cover their findings.
I hesitated, but called the police just in case. Not sure what they can do but keep an eye out.
Check your garages in West Elsdon area.

Wandering Pup
Today about 10:20 a.m. I walked out of the West Lawn Park building. A man entered the park walking his young dog on a leash. Tailing him was a little dog not more than a year old. The female dog was a light tan short hair. She kept wanting to run and play with the other dog on the leash.

I thought it was strange the man would have one on a leash and not the other. I asked him if it was his dog. He turned to the pup and said, no. She had followed him. I mentioned he could lead the pup to his home, put her in the backyard and call a shelter to pick her up.
He told me he lived in an apartment with no backyard.
I tried to get the pup to approach me as I poured some bottle water into my palm. The pup wasn't interested she just wanted to play.
I have no experience with dogs and didn't have any food to offer.
I hope someone will walk their dog towards West Lawn Park and pick up this little girl. She's a happy little one. She was lean but no to a point of starvation. She doesn't have a collar.
I wished I had a camera. All I could do is discribe her.
The pup has light tan short hair with a little wavy. She's almost a foot and a half off the ground in height. She' very playful and likes other dogs.
Please keep an eye out for her.
I attached a photo of a similar breed.

I found a cute puppy today.
I've named her Sandy and she might be around 1-2 years old. She has a pink collar on. I found her at 65th and Knox. She looks like a mix part poodle part schnouzer (sp?)
Color is gray and brown. Looks in good condition. I was able to walk her on a lease. Is anybody missing a dog?

Photo of male black/white Short Hair Terrier Mix
This is the photo of the LOST dog needing a home by tomorrow, March 13th.
Neighbor #1 can't keep him, Neighbor #2 will house him until Tuesday, March 13th, and we can't keep him due to allergies. We are all inexperienced with dogs.
Will anyone step up and help this playful young medium-sized terrier-mix ??

On my way out for my morning routine, I talked with Neighbor #2. He put the dog in his front iron-rod yard with an extended leash.
Upon my return, and him finishing breakfast, the dog was removed from the fenced in yard. He wondered why no one rang his door bell.
We're hopeful the owner located the dog and retrieved it.
-
UPDATE .... I saw this dog on a leash being walked.
I stopped to talk to the gentleman. He owned the puppy,
it's name is Pinto, it's half a year old and loves to chew
his collar. I suggested he take it in to the Animal Shelter for their last Saturday of the month special to chip his dog.He thanked me, he will look into it.

IGS People Scam
There are people going around the neighborhood asking for information about your electric bill, saying they are from ComEd and the need to look at your bill. These guys are just trying to switch you from ComEd to some company called IGS without you knowing it. I just talked to ComEd and they verify that these people do not represent ComEd and do not work for ComEd. Do not give these people any information.
Loading
-
Wow. I concur with C. Syko, the fact that ComEd allows other suppliers is no proof that IGS is not a scam, does not use underhanded, aggressive, and just plain reprehensible selling tactics. Also, the company well may be legit, but the complaints here are about the sales tactics (if you would've taken the time to actually read past the subject.) Oh, and congrats, anyone now researching IGS (as you suggest they do) will come across this post and see what kind of folks IGS employees really are.

#1 - I NEVER open my door to anyone that I have not called to come to my home for service or to anyone that I was not expecting.
My doors (both screen and regular doors) stay locked at all times whether I am in the home or not. (Safety first)#2 - I understand that these companies have these sales person(s) out marketing their companies but in this day and age as a concerned, informed citizen it is not safe to allow these people into your home nor to view your bills.
#3 - Politely inform the person at the door (loudly enough to be heard thru the door) that you are not interested in what they are selling. Then walk away from your door and they will leave your porch and move on.
#4 - If you really want to lower your utility bills then use the computer you already own or go to the library and log on to:
http://citizensutilityboard.org/savingmoney.html
That is the Citizens Utility Board and their website can help you to lower all of your utility bills.
Stay safe and remember, if you see something or someone suspicious = call 911.

With the poor police response time to crimes in the neighborhood and the outwardly brazen thugery of the street punks plying their trade in our neighborhood, I was thinking, maybe we could pool our money together and buy George Zimmerman a house up here.

When I was 14 or 15 years old I stole a case of soda out of a garage in my neighborhood. The owner used to leave his garage door open from time to time and he must have been in the soft drink business because he always had dozens and dozens of cases of this off brand soda pop stacked up in his garage, One day, while with the guys, walking through the alley, and being thirsty, I walked into the garage and took a wooden case of 12 quarts of this soda. The owner walked in the garage as I was leaving. He started chasing me. I dropped the case and ran like Rafer Johnson. When I turned out of the alley at 64th & Kostner, I slipped on some gravel and took a hard spill, but got up to run again, but it was too late. The guy got me and pummled me pretty bad. Broken nose, black eyes. the whole nine yards. The moral of this story: I never stole another thing. I hope a Cook County judge reads this.
