Bail denied for alleged triggerman in '09 fatal shooting

Devonshe Collier, 24, of the 4600 block of South Evans Avenue, appeared before Cook County Circuit Judge Laura Sullivan, who ordered him held without bail, at the Leighton Criminal Court building.

Collier is charged with murder in the shooting death of 21-year-old Dominic Barnes on July 5, 2009, about 10:15 a.m. in the 4700 block of Forrestville Avenue in the city’s Bronzeville neighborhood, officials said.

Woman Standing On Porch Sexually Assaulted

The victim was smoking a cigarette on the porch about 5:50 p.m. at her home in the 100 block of East 44th Street when an unknown male wearing a partial ski mask and gloves grabbed her from behind, Area Central detectives said in a community alert.
