I don't understand why people are confused about the location. Homeless individuals are everywhere. They're not just the people you see with an empty mcdonald's cup on the street. They can be your coworker. They can be the person ringing you up at the grocery store. They can be your neighbor's kid, leaving an abusive situation. I'm very glad to see the shelter back up, especially considering all the budget cuts that nonprofits have had to endure over the past couple years. The effects of those cuts will only become more prominent as time goes on :(

  • but the Crib from what I understand is a magnet for the criminal minded.

Robberies, Pepper-Spraying Reported In Boystown Mayhem Early Saturday
It was one of those nights in Boystown. At least two robberies, a pepper-spraying, and plenty of good old-fashioned mayhem were reported along the Halsted bar strip early Saturday. The first robbery was reported around 4:30 a.m. when six offenders stopped a man on the sidewalk near 730 West Roscoe and forcibly searched him for valuables.

  • Halstead has always had a reputation hasn't it? I remember back in the 1990s when a friend lived on Cornelia and used to complain about the drunken Cubs fans.
