Lakeview, Wrigleyville mugging victims describe violent attacks
Police say at least four people have been violently attacked in the past week on the city's North Side, but ABC7 has learned about more cases in Lakeview and Wrigleyville. • Is my perception wrong? Having lived in the neighborhood for 10 years it seems to me recently that the only police presence I see is police giving paking tickets or tickets to college kids drinking a beer on the beach.

  • Bryan, you are probably right. Though I appreciate our limited police force and all that they do.....they are under orders to to give tickets out to people who can pay them. As for the violent criminals our WORTHLESS judges hand out a slap on the wrist - if that.....the problem is the "leaders" who don't give a hoot about the tax payers.

Perhaps one of Chicago's greatest assets is its recognition as the birthplace of house music in the early 1980s. A genre that has since traveled the globe and now solicits stronger associations - for many people - with Europe than the United States, house has influenced countless subsequent genres of electronic music and helped define dance music as we know it today.
