Free the people from gangs

Make belonging to a gang illegal . If you belong to a gang you WILL be sent to BOOT Camp . Something has to change for people to be free from crime . Gangs are like terrorists preying on innocent people. Got to start somewhere. . Anybody got ideas on this solution? Please join in

  • I agree, there has to be more done to stop this madness, drive by shootings with a innocent bystanders who gets killed should face minimum of 30 years to life with no parole. We are to easy on criminals in this country. They don't have this problem in other Western nations

  • You need to define "gang". A "gang" can be defined as your baseball team, or your neighborhood friends, or your classmates. Possibly add the term "illegal" gang. Then we need to find the leaders first!!!

  • I think everyone knows what gang means and it isn't good. You won't find their leaders but you will find their members . Find the troops and the leaders will fall. if they don't have any army it will collapse.

Neighbors, we now have to be on alert of our outside meter devices. The thieves are now taking those. They are watching you come and go. If they take your meter you will be without power and displaced for sometime. Comed is not rushing out to replace your meters. Once the person take the meter and sell it or place it in the sock it on another house it still reports as though your meter is still on. So guess what you'll continue to be charged! The rep. will go back and forth with you. After making a police report Comed will one day come out to replace your meter, but get a load of this...YOU have to get an electrician to replace the box and repair the power line that is now damaged!!! After all of this you have to purchase a locking device in which you hope they can't get to it again. Now remember you're frustrated, your power is off, food spoiling, you're displaced and soon to be in the dark. This makes you and your house a target again for who...the THIEVES!!! Now they can come back and steal your items without your alarm or lights coming on. They'll bring their own lights! This all happened to my neighbor two days ago on 81st & Troy. As for me, they stole my gate, gutters, packages off the porch and my lawn mower. We're getting more vulnerable everyday. Stay alert!!! Continue to call the police!!! Leave your lights on when leaving your house!!! Don't sit in your car too long making you a suspect to get violated in front of your house. Pray always and be careful. Yes we are our brothers/neighbors keeper!!!

  • I know crime is everywhere....most of it in Chicago....I'm retired law enforcement, and I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself and my property. Sorry for everyone stuck in Chicago.....I finally had my chance to leave and I took it, and have no regrets. So Sweetie, take care of yourself, and I don't pray, but will be sending positive thoughts for those of you still living in Crime City

J.Cee, enjoy your retirement. You will not miss having to watch your back constantly, traffic and endless winters. Chicago is turning into Detriot. Your property taxes and water bills are growing and your home value is stuck or maybe in decline. I wish you a full price offer from a buyer with 20% down/conventional financing! Go swim in the Gulf I/F!

Blue Police Surveillance Lights on Poles

Its a shame that this conversation is even going on between defacement of private property and killings. Both are terrible crimes, and of course killing is the worst of all but people don't just start off killing, they start off with the small stuff first. So yes its important that these lights work and catch the people destroying other peoples property because this is how the criminal begins, bored and "wanting to belong" so its starts with small crimes first that lead to big crimes later, graffiti, selling drugs, stealing cars, then beating people up and then this leads to the next which is killing. So its important that these lights work for all crimes.
