The Best of Chicago's Seafood Boil Craze (So Far)
Along the Gulf and in New England, shellfish aren't just white-tablecloth fare. They're for picnic tables, too. Can Anyone Stop Pilsen From Gentrifying?
In Pilsen, a block or so east of the bar Simone's, an empty lot runs from Peoria Street to Newberry Avenue, from 18th Street back to 16th Street. Half concrete, half scrubby grass punctuated by giant thistles, it's surrounded by rental chain link fencing, some of which has fallen down.

  • "Oh No the Sky is falling" said again by the Pilsen Alliance...

  • We need a new alderman. How Solis is still alderman when so many people dislike the man is beyond me. I have talked to a good amount of my neighbors, attended the recent community meeting about the rezoning effort for the vacant land along 18th and 16th street, and I haven't heard anything good about him. I hope we can get some good candidates for the next election.
