The SRO conversion/demolition moratorium ordinance was passed by the Chicago Committee on Housing and Real Estate this morning by a voice vote. The only person who gave a no vote and a anti-moratorium speech was my former Alderman James Cappleman, who left long before any pro-moratorium testimony was given.

Ragin' Cajun Crawfish Boil

Sat, Jul 26, 2014 11am-5pm

Calling all creole-lovers!

My friend works a Newport Bar & Grill and I was just in there snacking on some wings and she told me about their CRAWFISH BOIL this Saturday!

I missed the other crawfish boils that I wanted to go to, and this will probably be the last of the season.

If your not already familiar with Newport (on Newport & Southport in Southport Corridor ), they already have a Cajun-influenced menu, so I trust 'em when it comes to the real deal!

Tickets are only $25 and includes all-you-can-eat crawfish, red potatoes, corn on the cob, red beans & rice and crispy potato salad, with $4 Abita beers.

They have a great patio and it'll definitely be a good time!
