Where do you get your favorite burger?

In honor of May being National Burger Month, where do you go for the best burger in or around Lake View?

Loading loading

  • I love Rocks because you can split a large burger with someone and both get a full side of fries! (for $1 extra)

Not to mention, lots of burger options and it's usually not too busy.

  • Also a bit north of Lakeview but Bar On Buena does an AWESOME burger!

Jacklyn, I own a two flat and my renter is looking for a possible room mate since her current roommate got married. it's a very nice 2 bedroom one bath unit. We are further Northwest around Montrose and Francisco but you can walk to the Francisco Brown line station in 5-8 minutes. You look to be about her age, she is 27. It's a quiet place to live around so you have peace of mind and then you can El it to where all the fun is. Let me know if you're interested and I will hook the two of you up. Joe

Underpass at Rosco and Lake Shore Dr.

Tom Tunney, the Cubs and many volunteers cleaned up and repainted the underpass to the park at Rosco. It looked great. Well it didn't take long for someone(s) to deface the walls with graffiti. Shame on them.

  • bill caldwell 15-Year Lake View resident.

It's a shame that this has to happen here. We do our best to have a nice neighborhood and no doubt outsiders come in and probally drunk or high decide to vandalize for a little fun.

  • Lee, thanks for posting that here. I work for Alderman Tunney and we are also painting the Barry Underpass at the end of the month. We will make sure to go paint over this graffiti @Roscoe as well.

LOST CAT

2 years old. all black. orange collar. RFID chip. named Mongo. yellow eyes. long and sleek, short-haired

Loading loading

  • Is your RFID chip registered through a service (such as HomeAgain)? They do a great job of sending emails out to their "Pet Rescuer" network.

Also, probably wouldn't be a bad idea to call Chicago Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center (773.281.7110). Hopefully someone has your cat safe and sound (or you can at least have others prepared). Good Luck!

  • also he is neutered. lost for almost 24 hours now.

Hey Rahm, where are the TREES??

Rahm, all you do is bark and whine- meanwhile we have to look at crap like this:

The city lacks greenspace and with all your millions and your connections you can't even replace dead trees!!

DO YOUR JOB ALREADY!

  • Sound like you got more against "Rahm" than you care about "trees".

True Story, I was Fined by the city for Cutting down an overgrown Weed in front of my house. It was there when I purchased my home. The plan was to plant a nice OAK Tree at my expense. But no no no, leave it to the city to fine me for cutting down the weed and trying to be green. Shame on you Rahm.

Besides the staff and facilities (both awesome), the camp runs until 6 which is a blessing as my wife and I both work. You should call right away though, my understanding is the summer camps fill up pretty quickly - the day they started enrollment I was parent #118 and I got there at 4:45 am!

Constant dog barking

There is a dog in my building that backs constantly when left alone. Recently, the owners are leaving the back door open which makes the dog even louder. It backs at other dogs, people, birds, etc. the entire day.

Has anyone else experienced this and what did you do to remedy it? Can a noise complaint be filed with the city?

Thanks

  • I recently experienced this. My dog was barking constantly. He would hear a noise in the hallways and hear other dogs and bark. I was thankful that my neighbors talked to the condo association and told me of the problem. I purchased a bark control device and it worked. If you do not feel comfortable about talking to the owner directly, tell your condo association/landlord. 9 times out of 10 the owner will appreciate the notification. I certainly did not enjoy my dog's barking either.

  • My dog had the same problem. A bark collar did not even work. I finally talked to my vet for more options. She gave me a D. A. P. (stands for dog appeasing pheromone). It looks like a Glade plug-in. When dogs are born the mother releases some sort of...

My dog had the same problem. A bark collar did not even work. I finally talked to my vet for more options. She gave me a D. A. P. (stands for dog appeasing pheromone). It looks like a Glade plug-in. When dogs are born the mother releases some sort of pheromone that calms the puppies. This device mimics this. I plugged it in next to his kennel and within about 2 days the barking stopped and he seemed more relaxed. It was the only thing that worked! You should be able to get one from the vet but you can also get them at Petco I believe. Good luck!
