Great! Now if he would just stop closing schools and funneling contracts through charters to buddies he might be on the way to a decent record.

  • If the schools are operating well under capacity--close them. It should have been done long ago. And close the charters also--study after study proves they are no better or no worse than public schools.

  • Mitchell Brown Historic Preservation fan

What's the pension issue with charter schools? Do teachers at charters have 401(k) or public pensions?

Kids hanging out in alley?

I noticed some teens hanging out near my garage. I went over to see what they were up to, but they weren't really doing anything that I could tell. Two were near my garage, walking back and forth, and two were sitting on the ground near my neighbor's garage. They sure seemed bummed that I came over to talk to them, so they left. Not sure if I broke up an innocent hangout session or stopped a garage break-in or something in between, but I just thought I'd let you all know so you can be aware.

  • Seriously !!!

  • A couple of months ago, 3 young teens were hanging out in back of my building. I waited too long before walking out to see what was going on....they had graffitied (is that a word?) the fence next door. So yes, check it out.

I found a cat

A light gray cat with a white chest showed up in my backyard today. Appears well-fed but skittish. No collar. Has a slight cough or rattle in the throat when frightened. The picture isn't great but I didn't want to scare him/her off. Let me know if you recognize him/her!

  • You can call Tree House at 773-784-5488 and talk to someone about what to do.

  • slk long-time rogers parker

Poor thing. I will keep my eyes open for flyers when I am walking. You could check with shelters to see if they have any lost cat postings w/ that description and there is a FB page for lost pets too.
