Hi,

Any recommendations for a cozy restaurant or pub with a fireplace?

Thanks!

http://www.firesidechicago.com/ - there must be something closer....but this used to be a fav when I lived within walking distance.

  • Galvins on lawrence.

  • I Heart PPark I Heart Portage Park and love the quirky stuff..

Irish American Heritage Center-Fifth Providence Pub-http://irish-american.org/

  • LGTH 6 yr Jeff Park resident

This is Lincoln Square, but The Grafton on Lincoln, north of Sunnyside. Nice fireplace in the back, nice couch too.

  • I believe Smak Tak, Chief O'Neill's, and Mo Dailey's have fireplaces, also.

  • Cheif O'Neils on Elston. It's a slight hike but worth it.

  • Deb R Fed-up

Lady Gregory's in Andersonville. http://ladygregorys.com/ It can be a busy place but worth the wait if there is one. The food is great too.

    Yes Moody's...great place!

The 5th Province at the Irish American Heritage Center, in Kilpatrick and Wilson (just east of Cicero Avenue). Sometimes they have live music (Irish folk music, Celtic stuff, it varies). Sometimes there is a cover, sometimes not. If the band is playing, they set up in front of the fireplace, so it won't be burning, so if the fireplace is what you really want, I would call to make sure. But this place is terrific, and has tons of FREE parking! It is family friendly, too, though you don't see too many kids in there. Never seen a squalling baby or an out-of-control toddler there, and those are my pet peaves. 773.282.7035. Great food, too! I may just have to go tonight.

Fireside is terrific, and has amazing food and a beer menu to die for!

I did not care for the burgers at The Grafton at all. They use some funky buns, but many people like them. They're like pretzel bread buns. Seriously...we paid, but left them on the table. I guess we're just burger purists.

  • Moody's Pub (http://moodyspub.com/) is a great place -- cozy and good food.

  • Beckett's on Lincoln/Belmont is great- fireplace and even a private library feel!

  • PM frustrated & concerned homeowner

Las Palmas is a great Lil Mexican place with a fireplace, near Montrose & Oak Park Avenue.

  • Portage Grounds Portage Park Neighbor

Portage Grounds will have a fireplace. We know that its not a restaurant or a pub and its not open yet but we are excited about it. Its beeing installed next week and we look forward to cozy times in front of the fireplace.

  • Where are you going to be located and when do you plan to open Portage Grounds:)

  • I second Moody's on broadway. Great burgers! Cash only.

  • Thanks for all these suggestions!

Vaughan's has a fake fire place. Not sure what you're looking for.

    HA! Fake fireplace.

    Get this:

Turn your thermostat up to 86, take one piece of the Nadig, put it in a 500 degree pre-heated oven. You'll be good to go.
