La Casa Norte, Inc., a nonprofit homeless organization, received a grant of $383,917 to rehab a three-flat building at 3507 W. North Ave. into a transitional residence for 16 homeless youths ranging in age from 16 to 21 years. With a small budget, Landon Bone Baker Architects transformed the building into a functional, contemporary space with natural lighting and a rear garden.

"The purpose of the program is to apprehend drivers who are operating vehicles while under the influence of alcohol or drugs," said Interim Superintendent Dana V. Starks. "The program also offers an opportunity to issue citations to drivers who are otherwise a hazard to themselves and others on the public way."

Wanted for Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault
On November 27, 2007 at approximately 12:38 a.m., in the area of Cicero and Erie the offender offered an adult female victim a ride to Cicero and North due to the cold weather. The victim accepted the ride and was subsequently sexually assaulted by the offender. The below photo is of the offender captured by surveillance equipment.
