    Hegewisch Marsh, a 130-acre wetland located in the Calumet region of Chicago, is a prime example of a rehabilitated wetland that is on it's way to mirroring the pristine wetlands that existed in the area long before the industrial era drastically changed the landscape.

  • The area bounded by 132nd, 136th, Burley Avenue and the Indiana border Hegewisch, Avondale proposed for TIF

    The proposed 134th and Avenue K TIF district in the Hegewisch neighborhood is bounded by 132nd and 136th Streets, the Indiana border on the east, and Burley Avenue on the west. The proposed TIF district is intended to provide a financing tool for the environmental remediation of land and the extensive infrastructure needs for the long-term construction of a new residential community. It will also work to revitalize the commercial and industrial uses within the area.

  • 13311 S. Avenue N Preserving Communities Together - 13311 S. Avenue N, Chicago, IL 60633

    The City of Chicago, through the Department of Housing's Preserving Communities Together ("PCT") program notifies all interested parties that the property located at 13311 S. Avenue N, Chicago, IL 60633 is available for conveyance. The selected developer will be required to submit at closing a $2,500- $5,000 acquisition fee and a $1,000 performance deposit. The Performance Deposit is held by the Department of Housing, pending the successful completion of the project.
