    Covering the 1200 through 1600 blocks of North Milwaukee Ave.; the 1500 block of North Damen Ave.; and the 1900 and 2000 blocks of West North Ave., the development of this district took place in two phases – the first low-rise phase began after the Great Chicago Fire in 1871 and continued up to the introduction of the elevated train service; the second phase began in 1895 and ended at the start of the Great Depression in 1929.

    The Home Bank and Trust Company Building, at 1200 N. Ashland Ave., is one of Chicago's best neighborhood bank buildings and a visually prominent building at the "six-corners" intersection of Milwaukee, Ashland, and Division on Chicago's Near Northwest Side. It was designed in the Classical Revival style and is unusual in its retention of its three-story-high banking hall.

    The Receptory Building and Stable is located at 3015 W. Division St., on the city's Near Northwest Side, and is one of the oldest surviving structures in Humboldt Park. It is currently occupied by the Institute of Puerto Rican Arts and Culture. Built in 1895, the two-story structure was designed by the Chicago architectural firm of Frommann and Jebsen.

    On 14 Nov 2007 at 4:40 p.m., a 15 year old female victim was walking home on the 1500 block of W. Ohio when an unknown Male Hispanic pulled up to the curb and began blowing kisses at her. He then told the victim to get into his vehicle. The victim refused and the offender drove away.
