  • 82nd to 92nd Streets from Prairie Avenue to Evans Avenue Warning re: Armed Robberies in Gresham (6th) District

    There have been several armed robberies that have occurred in the 6th District between January 11 and January 18, 2008. The offenders approached the victims on the street, displayed handguns and then took their personal property. These incidents occurred between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. The robberies occurred in the area of 82nd to 92nd Streets from Prairie Avenue (300 East) to Evans Avenue (932 East).

  • 10538 S. Langley Principal for a Day at Edgar Allen Poe Classical School

    On Tuesday, October 30, 2007 Fire Commissioner Orozco was the "Principal for a Day," at Edgar Allan Poe Classical School, 10538 S. Langley. The Fire Commissioner addressed the students and staff over the PA system in the morning. He visited several classrooms talking to the students about fire prevention and safety as well as changing the batteries in their smoke detectors when they change the clocks this weekend. The students had many questions for the Fire Commissioner and impressed him with their reading level. The students received fire helmets and fire safety activity sheets. The Edgar Allan Poe children's choir performs at the Chicago Fire Department graduation ceremonies.
