Addison and Kimball Avenues
Mayor proposes to repeal three TIF districts
The Addison/Kimball TIF District in the Avondale neighborhood was designated in 2000 as an industrial TIF in an effort to replace the former International Paper facility at the corner of Addison and Kimball Avenues. When several industrial uses failed to develop, a Home Depot store was built on the site without using TIF assistance. Since then, there have been no expenditures from the TIF, as the store site occupies the entire district.
